The Greatest Asset
The greatest and most important asset we have is our time.
Have you ever thought about how little we value our time?
Let us say we charge an employer $10 per hour, we are saying that our worth, our value is $10 per hour.
We only have so many hours that we can sell - there is always a ceiling to how much we can earn!
It does not matter if you are charging $10 per hour or $100 per hour, that ceiling is there.
Indentured servitude is an age old practice where both parties agree to bind one party to the service of the other.
In other words, one party owns the other party's time.
They both agree and sign a contract that one person owns that other person's time.
The current employment system operates on this principle of indentured servitude.
When we do this we sell ourselves to another, for them to have control over our time and stipulate what we can and cannot do.
You Want An Ice Cream?
Think about it, let's say you work in a shop and it is a hot day, you want to eat an ice cream.
Your boss says no, that is against policy and against your indentured agreement.
You have lost the right to eat an ice cream when you want to...
You Cannot Get Time Back
When we sell our time to another, they are in effect earning the compound interest from our efforts, they give us some money, but they get all the long term benefit of how our time is being spent and how it impacts the future.
We can never get that time back, it is lost, gone, can never be recovered.
They are getting all the value from our time, if they do not pay us less than we are worth, they cannot make a profit...
Exchanging Time For Assets
The alternative is to exchange our time for assets.
This is where we invest your time in creating something that can sell over and over again.
When we do this, we potentially have no ceiling to how much we can earn!
We own our time, so we get the compounding benefit of that investment.
Why Many Won't Invest In Creating Assets
Creating assets often involves lots of work with little reward at the beginning.
It is over time that our efforts start to compound, check out this video for a full explanation:
But if we take time to invest in ourselves and look at how we can create assets, particularly digital assets, where there is massive opportunity right now, then we can gain true freedom in our lives and escape the system of indentured servitude...
