My daughter has just launched her online residual income business and I am so proud of her!
At 21, she is starting out in the world of online residual income generation, I wish I had the smarts to do that at 21!
From Zero To Launching Her Own Business In Just 4 Months:
It has been quite a journey, in just 4 months, she has gone from zero Adobe Illustrator skills and zero business skills, to having her own Etsy shop up and running and selling digital products under her Reebloo Brand.
Think about that, in just 4 months, from nothing to running her own business!
Where Did She Come From?
She had experience in the world of regular employment and quickly realised that exchanging her time for money was very poor value.
Her last job was working in a cafe during holiday season at a Zoo, where she had to deal with impatient, tired and noisy tourists on a day to day basis, which was not fun and was not something that inspired her as a long term career path...
So she decided that was not the life she wanted and she has quit that life.
She wants to travel around the world and plans on being location independent in the next 18 months to 2 years.
How Did She Do It?
She focused first on what it was she wanted to do, she wanted to be a Graphic Designer.
But she did not want to do work for other people, she wanted to create her own products and sell her own designs.
At the young age of just 21 she has realised that prosperity in income generation comes from creating, owning and selling your own assets.
So that is what she decided to do...
How Did She Learn?
The first step she needed to take was to acquire some core skills, she needed to learn the software that would allow her to create her own designs and products.
So she took a Udemy Masterclass' on Adobe Illustrator and also signed up to Skillshare to learn some specific styles and techniques. She found this one particularly helpful:
She acquired the skills she needed first by teaching herself online by using the opportunities that sites like Udemy and Skillshare provide at a very low cost.
No Need For University:
She did not need an expensive University education as the core skills she needed were all available to learn online, she has saved herself a massive amount of debt by learning this way, she also wanted to learn from real life experts who had honed their skills by doing.
She also preferred learning in a non-pressured environment where she was not being graded and forced through an exam system with all of its pressure and probably out of date techniques and methods.
What Was Her Attitude?
Rhiannon displayed the two core attitudes that are at the heart of being a successful entrepreneur.
Hope Focused: She focused on her dreams and was solution orientated, she did not focus on the problems, but on the solutions, she did not get stuck in the past and its limitations, she pressed on to the future and its potentialities.
Practised Diligence: She was diligent, every day she got up early and worked on her business, she set a routine and stuck to it, she worked hard every day.
Through Difficult Times:
Rhiannon achieved this whilst experiencing massive personal trials in her life, probably some of the biggest challenges she has ever had to face were going on in the background during this period.
But she did not use that as an excuse, or let it stop her, she pressed on through the really difficult times and never gave up.
So Where Is She At Right Now?
She has just released her shop with her initial designs and brand.
She is "in business".
Where Does She Go From Here?
Rhiannon knows that she just has to work hard now and create lots of designs, the more she creates and puts out there, the more she can generate in terms of income.
And that is what she intends to do, work hard, put out lots of good quality work and succeed. It really is that simple.
